Healthcare is a very controversial topic in America.
According to the World Health Organization the US spent 17.1% of GDP on healthcare in 2017. Many individuals disagree on the role the government should play in offering health insurance and the amount of tax money it should use.
The purpose of this video from Jimmy Kimmel Live is not to describe or evaluate the organization of our healthcare system but to showcase how readily we will defend our (oftentimes) ignorant and prejudiced opinions even when we know very little about what we are talking about.
Today I encourage you to stay updated on legislation and to do some research before making an argument.

I definitely agree with what you are saying about how people are ready to defend their arguments, even when they do not have sufficient research to back them up. I completely agree that to be able to make these arguments, one needs to have done their homework, and be able to stand with an opinion, not because they heard someone say it one time, but because they have done the research and and can defend the points they are debating!
